A response from a reader of the Hearing Loss Magazine:

Date: Mon, 19 Nov 2007
Jay,

Hello! I just got done reading your article in the Hearing Loss Magazine. I wanted to let you know that you're an inspiration to me.  I'm 21 years old and a mother of two beautiful boys. My son Brayden was born on July 17, 2006.  When he was born, he was born deaf.   As a mother from a hearing family it was very difficult for me to take the news of this.  My whole life was changing. I had to start learning sign language and start teaching him.  We currently just put him through surgery for the cochlear implant.
I just recently had my second son on Oct. 12, 2007 and we just heard the news that he may be deaf too.  We take him to Riley's Children's Hospital in Indy, IN later this month to find out.
After reading your story it gives me a lot of hope in the future for my two boys.  My days are trying and rough for me and I just pray to the good Lord every day that everything's going to be alright and that my sons one day will be able to be like everyone else and be able to perform the duties of normal hearing children.  I have alot of hope for them after reading your story.  I have hope for them before because I'm their mother and that's what good parents do is have hope and faith in there children no matter what.
I hope to read more articles from you in the future.  I'm going to hold my head up HIGH and pray for the best for my two young children... AND THANK YOU for inspiring me...

Sincerely,

Brandy

My new CD, "This'll Be a Memory" is complete and ready for you to hear!

I recorded the tracks for my new album in Nashville at Fun House Studios.  My producer and co-writer, Charlie Craig, assembled some of the finest musicians in Nashville for this project.  Some of these players are arguably the best in the world.
This record will feature Jeff King on lead guitar.  Jeff just finished playing on Craig Morgan's record.
On steel guitar, I have the famous Paul Franklin.  Paul recently completed the steel parts on George Strait's last record.
Bass guitar is provided by three time Grammy winner, Dave Hungate. It has been said that Dave has played on more records than any other bass player to date.
On fiddle, banjo, dobro, and mandolin is the amazing Wanda Vick.  Wanda was one of the players I had to have.
My good friend, Buddy Hyatt is playing key boards.  Buddy also owns the studio and always uses the top player when he records.
My session leader and acoustic guitar player is Robert Authur.  Robert recently got a song cut on Brad Paisley's new record.  He co-wrote the song "I'll Take You Back" with Brad.
Last but not least, someone new:  Seth Rausch on percussion and drums.  I had never used Seth before in the studio.  I was impressed!  Seth is only 28 and has a great future in this business.
The background vocals were recorded by Monty Allen, who plays and sings harmony for Allen Jackson.

My good friend Aaron Scherz handled the mixing and mastering of the CD.  Aaron has great ears, and he did an awsome job!
